Auspicious commencement. (Blegh!)
Spirals contrast the dawn
with immense signatures.
Holes breach in the thin air.
Seemingly introspective.

What then emerges is but anybody's best guess.
Forms of dark energy, creeping--of my inception?
Ghosts of a stranger or something altogether new?
Be these inclusive or projective, we are all doomed.

For if this shall
be an alien
race:
The way they encroach, hostile is for certain.
Matching their speed is only their agility.
But scars they left in space remain open
and like eye fluid, they drift when I pay mind.
When I ignore, they turn attention away?
Almost as if, they feed on my fear.
Traveled lightyears for something so primitive?
It is clear, my apertures are to be shut.
[I look against instinct.] x2
Now when I open
a face incorporeal
confronts me only inches
from my own.
A reflection
acts as I do, mocking my gestures and mood.
Almost perfect, but a glitch
tells me this is not what it seems.
And so I run for my life!
But I cannot run. Because I can never run.
No one can ever run away from them.
Living relatively.
With holes in my being.
I try to live for myself,
but inevitably... (Not)
